About the roleHinge Health is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in the development and sustaining work for our hardware products.
As a junior-to-mid-level engineer, you will work on diverse projects, driving board-level designs for highly integrated medical devices from schematic to layout to assembly. You will work cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to bring products from concept through production. You will also work on sustaining engineering to support the continuing success of our products post-launch.
The ideal candidate is excited about solving real problems with hardware - your work will have a direct impact on reducing pain and improving the lives of our millions of members. In joining our HW group within the broader R&D organization, you will be part of a highly capable, motivated, small team where your contributions and ideas truly matter.
Help develop the electrical systems behind Hinge Health's connected hardware products. As an Electrical Engineer on the Hardware Engineering team, you'll contribute to board-level designs from early exploration through production, working closely with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing partners. Your work will help bring reliable medical devices to members working to reduce pain and improve their lives.
What You'll AccomplishIn your first 3 months- Build an understanding of our hardware products, electrical design practices, product development process, and manufacturing needs
- Contribute to embedded-system electrical design, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout
In your first 6 months- Partner with mechanical, firmware, and senior electrical engineers on system architecture and integration
- Take part in prototyping, detailed design, testing, and preparation for production
- Document design decisions and test results to support product quality and applicable medical-device requirements
In your first year- Drive board-level design work across product development, from exploration and prototyping through verification and production ramp
- Support manufacturing and sustaining engineering through test or process development, design-for-manufacturing improvements, and component-level failure analysis
- Help sustain products after launch and identify design changes that can improve cost or manufacturability
Who You Are- You are a hands-on electrical engineer who enjoys turning product needs into reliable embedded hardware
- You bring a Learn-it-all mindset, seek feedback, and keep building your technical knowledge
- You take accountability for your work, communicate progress and risks, and follow through on commitments
