Full Job Description
Responsive recruiter
We're hiring an Electrical Engineer responsible for the electrical systems in our wheelchair accessible conversions, from concept through production. You'll design and integrate the controls for our ramps, doors, and kneeling systems with each OEM vehicle's power and network systems, and make sure they work every time, because our customers depend on them daily. You'll partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, suppliers, and OEM partners, and see your designs go from the bench to customers' driveways.
What You'll Do:
Design the electrical architecture, interfaces, and system behavior for our conversions across multiple OEM platforms, including safety interlocks like preventing ramp deployment unless the vehicle is in park.
Integrate our systems without disrupting OEM airbags, ADAS, body controls, or diagnostics.
Design and troubleshoot control modules, circuitry, power distribution, and harness and connector interfaces.
Develop and validate embedded software, including control logic, diagnostics, and CAN/LIN communication.
Plan and support testing from bench and prototype through DV, PV, EMC, durability, and production validation.
Lead root cause investigations and support field issues from dealers and customers.
Create technical documentation, assess OEM model-year changes, and participate in DFMEAs and design reviews.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years in automotive, transportation, industrial controls, or a related industry.
Experience designing and troubleshooting electronic hardware and supporting embedded software.
Working knowledge of CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, and I2C.
Hands-on skill with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and CAN diagnostic tools at the subsystem and vehicle level.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
What's Nice To Have:
Upfit or OEM electrical integration experience, or a background in mobility or specialty vehicles.
EV/hybrid platforms, ISO 26262, ASPICE, or HIL testing.
PCB design, C/C++ embedded development, or wiring harness design.
