Electrical Engineer opportunity in
Johnson City, TN.
Position Overview:We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a new facility design project with a strong emphasis on conceptual design, power distribution, and the development of electrical distribution systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop conceptual electrical designs including load analysis and system architecture.
- Design power distribution systems-medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV)-including switchgear, transformers, panelboards, grounding, and protective devices.
- Create distribution system layouts from scratch, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Produce detailed diagrams, equipment specifications, and system calculations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural, controls) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Lead or support design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
- Ensure all designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and client-specific standards.
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and schedule development related to electrical scope.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on power distribution and system development.
- Demonstrated expertise in medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, including system modeling and protective device coordination.
- Proven ability to develop electrical distribution systems from concept through detailed design.
- Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency with electrical design tools.
- Familiarity with high-reliability or high-security environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
