Description

About the Role

We're hiring a hands-on Electrical Engineer to design and support industrial control panels and electrical systems from concept through production.

You'll work across the full project lifecycle-understanding customer requirements, developing electrical designs, supporting procurement and manufacturing, resolving issues, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

This is not a role where you simply create drawings and hand them off. You'll stay close to the work, collaborate directly with manufacturing and supply chain, participate in customer discussions, and help solve problems when challenges arise.

You'll work side-by-side with other Engineers, Project Managers, Sales, manufacturing, and customers. We're looking for an engineer who is technically capable, highly accountable, communicates reliably, and takes ownership of their work.

If you enjoy turning requirements into practical electrical solutions, solving problems, and seeing your designs become real products, you'll fit right in.

What We're Looking For
  • 2-5 years of experience with electrical control systems, industrial controls, or electrical engineering
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to turn requirements into practical solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Ability to identify problems, take action, and follow through to resolution
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a broader engineering team
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable working directly with customers, manufacturing personnel, and cross-functional teams
  • A high level of ownership, reliability, and accountability
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and continuously improve technical and business skills

Requirements

Electrical Design & Engineering
  • Design industrial control panels and electrical systems using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and other engineering tools
  • Develop electrical schematics, mechanical layouts, cable interconnects, bills of materials, and other engineering documentation
  • Perform electrical load calculations, heat calculations, and other design analyses as required
  • Interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical, reliable electrical designs
  • Apply applicable electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, and UL 508A
  • Review designs for accuracy, manufacturability, functionality, and compliance
  • Identify and correct design issues before they impact manufacturing or the customer
Project & Customer Support
  • Manage assigned control panel design and build projects from requirements through completion
  • Participate in customer meetings to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations
  • Interface directly with internal and external customers to clarify requirements and resolve technical questions
  • Develop project cost estimates and provide technical input to the Sales team
  • Monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables
  • Communicate project and task status consistently to engineers, project managers, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Complete assigned work reliably and within established timelines
Manufacturing & Production Support
  • Work directly with manufacturing personnel to support the assembly and build of control panels
  • Provide technical guidance to prevent and resolve assembly issues
  • Troubleshoot electrical design and manufacturing issues and develop practical solutions
  • Support prototype and production builds from initial design through completion
  • Understand how designs translate from engineering documentation into a finished product
  • Utilize electrical hand tools, crimping tools, soldering equipment, and other tools as needed
Procurement & Operational Support
  • Partner with Supply Chain to resolve procurement issues, substitutions, and material availability challenges
  • Utilize the ERP system to understand work order status, material requirements, and procurement status
  • Review bills of materials and help identify potential material or availability issues early in the project
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering and manufacturing processes
Team Collaboration & Execution
  • Consistently and reliably support Lead and Senior Engineers on project work
  • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
  • Communicate clearly and proactively when priorities, timelines, or project requirements change

  • Maintain a minimum of 85% billable utilization
  • Take ownership of assigned work and follow projects through to completion
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and quality while working in a fast-paced environment
