Full-Time Electrical Engineer for our
Riverside, CA office. Be involved in projects with our
Property & Buildings Team and contribute to the delivery of innovative electrical systems for a variety of commercial, institutional, mixed-use, civic, higher education, and other general building projects.
This position provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams supporting projects from planning and design through construction. The ideal candidate is a motivated professional with a strong technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions that meet client objectives.
Your Impact- Support the design of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and telecommunications systems for general building projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and system layouts under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
- Develop construction documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and technical reports.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other project disciplines.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and condition assessments as needed.
- Assist with preparing technical studies, engineering reports, and project documentation.
- Support project managers with scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and project delivery activities.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and other contractor-provided documentation during construction.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute technical expertise throughout project execution.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct consistent with WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in the design of building systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, civic, higher education, healthcare, mixed-use, or similar general building facilities.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), California Building Code, and related industry standards.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple assignments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and the ability to comply with WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
- Experience with SKM, ETAP, AGi32, Visual Lighting, or similar electrical analysis and design software.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building systems.
- Experience supporting projects in Southern California.
- LEED Accreditation or demonstrated involvement in sustainable building design.
- Prior experience working within a multidisciplinary consulting engineering environment.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $88,500 - $126,600
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
