Electrical EngineerThe Electrical Engineer will provide electrical technical support to electricians and electro-mechanical teams supporting plant control systems. This role will research and implement new technologies to improve processes and support competitive advantage, while also designing and programming industrial control systems used on high-speed automation equipment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Support & TroubleshootingTroubleshoot low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial machinery during breakdowns or operational outages.
Reliability & MaintenanceSupport preventive and predictive maintenance programs, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures, and implement corrective actions.
Control Systems & AutomationCollaborate with controls technicians to interface electrical systems with PLCs, DCS, instrumentation, vision systems, robotics, servos, and related automation technologies.
Capital Projects & DesignLead or assist with electrical scopes of work, equipment installations, upgrades, acceptance, and commissioning for new plant machinery.
Manage overall project delivery and production/installation schedules, including initial quotation technical support, customer interaction and correspondence, generation of electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs), production and on-site drawing/instruction packages, factory/on-site Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs), O&M manuals, submittals/deliverables and project close-out, and final job cost analysis.
Lead on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning of production lines, switchgear line-ups, and sub-assembly equipment for high-demand industrial facilities.
Documentation & ComplianceMaintain and update single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel layouts. Ensure full compliance with NEC (NFPA 70) and NFPA 58 codes related to hazardous manufacturing operations.
Technical Responsibilities & CompetenciesPerform a variety of engineering work related to applications, electrical/electronics, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, safety, health, and environmental functions.
Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Design new electrical control systems for new and existing equipment.
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting methodology, cross-functional communication, and the ability to work safely on the production floor.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Three (3)+ years of electrical engineering experience within industrial electrical controls related to high-speed equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth programming experience with PLCs, vision systems, robotics, servos, C# programming, and Ethernet networks.
Working EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing plant floor environment with routine exposure to machinery.
Occasional off-hours or on-call support for critical facility outages.
