PositionYour Key Responsabilities:- Design and develop safe, efficient, and reliable electrical control systems for REEL equipment, in close collaboration with Project Engineers and Mechanical Designers.
- Ensure that all aspects of the control systems and equipment comply fully with customer specifications, translating these requirements into practical electrical and control solutions.
- Coordinate with other Electrical Designers and external integrators to ensure seamless system integration, particularly on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Select and source electrical components, technologies, and materials that keep REEL's equipment up to date with current technology, while considering performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain awareness of project budget constraints and consistently strive to use cost-effective components and design solutions.
- Support and participate in equipment testing prior to delivery, ensuring that systems operate as intended and assisting with troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.
- Perform on-site commissioning of equipment and resolve technical issues encountered in the field.
- Maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and application specialists throughout the duration of the project.
- Contribute to larger projects by coordinating with other designers and supporting project-related technical decisions.
- Adhere to all REEL engineering procedures, documentation standards, and Vault processes when creating, revising, and managing engineering data.
- Apply REEL's Health, Safety and Environmental policies at all times in the design, development, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
RequirementsWhat you'll bring:- Electrical Controls Technologist / Technician, Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in electrical controls design, industrial automation or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical concepts, controls design, codes and standards.
- Experience in an industrial environment; exposure to automated equipment is an asset.
- Good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Well organized, autonomous and comfortable managing priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Sound judgment, initiative and strong sense of responsibility.
- Customer-oriented approach and ability to build strong working relationships.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites, including occasional international travel.
