As an
Electrical Engineering Associate Principal, you'll serve as a senior project, technical, and client leader within an established consulting engineering firm. You'll oversee complex electrical projects, mentor and develop staff, strengthen client relationships, and help support the continued growth of the electrical practice.

What You'll Do- Lead complex building electrical systems projects from early planning and schematic design through construction
- Manage and grow existing client relationships within key market sectors
- Serve as a trusted technical resource and subject matter expert across the firm
- Lead internal and external project teams while managing workload, milestones, and key deliverables
- Develop detailed scopes of work, fee proposals, and project approaches
- Review professional services contracts and help identify additional service opportunities
- Support workload forecasting, staffing planning, and annual business planning
- Provide technical quality control and review across multiple projects
- Participate in RFQ and RFP pursuits, client interviews, and industry presentations
- Partner with marketing to develop technical content, project profiles, case studies, resumes, and pursuit materials
- Mentor, train, and develop electrical engineers and designers
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, standards, and technical consistency
- Help maintain client-specific design standards and construction documentation practices
What You Bring - Experience & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- 15+ years of electrical engineering experience
- 10+ years of direct client-facing experience within consulting engineering, construction, or a related environment
- Experience designing building electrical systems within both public and private market sectors
- Strong experience managing internal and external project teams
- Thorough understanding of design-build, design-bid-build, and negotiated contract delivery methods
- Experience developing detailed scopes of work and reviewing professional services contracts
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and client communication skills
- Strong understanding of applicable electrical, energy, building, and fire/life-safety codes
Technical Expertise- Electrical service and power distribution design
- Generator and emergency/standby power systems
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Fire alarm system design
- National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
- Energy codes and jurisdictional amendments
- Building and fire alarm code compliance
- Electrical load calculations
- Fault current and arc-flash calculations
- Electrical one-line and control diagrams
- Lighting photometric analysis and reporting
- Electrical installation details
- Specifications and construction documentation
- Cost opinion development and client budgeting support
- CAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
Experience with renewable power generation, energy storage systems, and medium-voltage power distribution is also highly valued.
