OverviewThe Electrical Architect, Vehicle Control Systems is a senior individual contributor responsible for defining and managing the electronic architecture for assigned vehicle control applications, operating modes, and vehicle state management systems. This role bridges systems engineering, software development, and cross-functional coordination to ensure functional integration and compliance with vehicle-level requirements. As a Feature Partner, the role coordinates work and support across vehicle control features and functions and frequently advises stakeholders on complex architecture and integration matters.
What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
Architecture Execution:
You will help define the advanced electrical architecture for Scout Motors applications and develop the associated vehicle architecture data process. Responsibilities include evaluating interdependencies and variable factors, identifying inconsistencies, and selecting or adapting methods and evaluation criteria to create effective solutions in collaboration with Main System architects. You will ensure consistency across functional, logical, and physical architectures in line with requirements. You will actively manage interfaces and build networks with key stakeholders inside and outside the immediate area of expertise. Strong cross-domain technical judgment and collaboration skills are essential.
Vehicle Control Functions Support:
For assigned vehicle control and state management functions, take end-to-end accountability for design, development, integration, validation, and performance from concept through production and post-launch support. The portfolio may include REEV feature and system architecture, vehicle state management, vehicle application modes, and vehicle application controls. Exercise independent judgment to resolve complex, cross-domain issues and escalate material program risks with clear recommendations.
Project Timeline for Function Development:
As Feature Partner, be accountable for the development, integration, and validation of assigned vehicle control functions in accordance with the project timeline. Align functional deliverables with agreed program milestones, including prototype builds, design verification (VFF), product validation (PVS), and vehicle launch gates. Ensure function-level software, hardware, and test deliverables are completed, reviewed, and approved at each milestone to support system integration and program readiness.
Roles and Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end functional architecture for assigned vehicle control systems and drive delivery of tactical program targets through cross-functional teams.
- Develop logical and physical EE architecture in coordination with system engineers and domain experts, applying in-depth knowledge to resolve complex architecture models, interfaces, and procedures.
- Define system-level requirements across EE, software, and mechanical domains; support EE and software architecture design and integration at system and component levels; and serve as an integral liaison among hardware, applications, and core cross-functional teams.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of key assigned system functions against program release milestones, using judgment to select methods, adapt techniques, and resolve ambiguous or conflicting inputs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the system V-development lifecycle, from concept through launch, and lead technical alignment in design reviews and cross-functional forums.
- Own functional and non-functional requirements, development coordination, validation readiness, and technical sign-off recommendations for assigned functions.
- Domain/working knowledge of SW controls, EE, Electronics, and expertise in development, testing and validation methods of mechatronics systems.
- Develop component and system designs, functional and end-of-line specifications, detailed test methods, and system-level DFMEA, DV, and PV deliverables for complex mechatronic systems; guide the application and improvement of engineering principles and methods.
