DescriptionWORK LOCATION: This position allows for a hybrid / flexible work schedule with a mix of work spent on site at the Sargent & Lundy office and working remote from home.
Your work will have you perform the following types of studies:
- Relay setting calculations
- Power system calculations
- Arc flash calculations
- Cable ampacity calculations
- Transient analysis
- Harmonic analysis
- Renewable energy calculations
- Grounding and induction calculations
There is the potential for you to travel to client offices and project sites to provide on-site consultation.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
- A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (background in Power/Power Systems) and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience performing electrical analysis.
- Experience performing analysis of power systems using software such as: ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and EMTP-RV.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Successful completion of the Professional Engineering (PE) exam

- Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation is valued but not required.
- We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems.
Compensation Range$74,353 - $113,595

The total compensation package for eligible positions will include a base salary or an hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting our commitment to rewarding performance and supporting the overall well-being of our employees.
