Full Job Description
The Opportunity

The EHS Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple manufacturing sites and R&D facilities. This role ensures compliance with complex federal, state, and local regulations, manages high-impact risk mitigation initiatives, and drives continuous improvement in safety culture. The position serves as a regulatory subject matter expert, leads multi-site EHS teams, and partners with senior leadership to align safety and environmental strategies with corporate objectives. The position oversees safety programs impacting approximately 300 employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory subject matter expert and point of contact for environmental, health, and safety programs for Twin Falls Cheese Plant, Blackfoot Cheese Plant, Central Lab, Cheese Innovation Center, and Idaho HQ Office.
  • Active participation and/or ownership of Plant Pillars, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for disseminating new safety and environmental regulations to plant managers and staff.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and continuation of uniform safety and environmental documentation and training programs.
  • Develop and maintain industrial hygiene programs (exposure assessments, ventilation/engineering controls, PPE selection, fit testing, medical surveillance, and IH sampling plans).
  • Maintains Plant Compliance Calendars.
  • Provide strategic guidance to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Oversees and audits OSHA plant logs.
  • Take injured employees to the hospital when injured.
  • Conducts and oversees root cause analysis investigations.
  • Responsible all environmental reporting including Tier II, Form R, stormwater inspections/reporting, etc.
  • Ensure overall compliance with all environmental laws, standards, and regulations, including existing and pending site permits (CAA, NPDES, Local Ordinances, etc.).
  • Ensures compliance with all safety laws, standards, regulations, and policies (OSHA etc.).
  • Manage compliance projects at GN Dairy sites as needed and at the direction of the Senior EHS Manager.
  • Develop all environmental reports required by permits including SARA 312, SARA 313, CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, and Local Ordinances.
  • Responsible for ensuring all waste generated from the facility is packaged, handled, transported, disposed of, and tracked in a manner that meets and/or exceeds Federal, State, and Local regulations.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing; multi-site and/or food processing preferred.
  • Demonstrated success influencing at multiple levels and leading cross functional initiatives with measurable risk reduction.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiply projects simultaneously.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Proficient in OSHA general industry standards and programs (e.g., LOTO, CSE, PIT, machine guarding, hazard communication, respiratory protection).
  • Working knowledge of EPA programs (CAA, CWA/NPDES, RCRA, EPCRA/SARA, SPCC/SWPPP) and state/local requirements.
  • Experience with industrial hygiene sampling/controls and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PSM/RMP for ammonia refrigeration and contractor safety management (preferred).
  • Strong command of EHS data systems, metrics, and reporting; advanced Excel/analytics skills a plus.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE (Env), ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma/Lean certification, OSHA 30 Hour, HAZWOPER 24/40.

Typical Environmental Conditions
  • May be exposed to 85+ noise levels in which hearing protection will be needed.
  • May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, poor lighting, and/or above ground with a danger of fall.
  • May be exposed to air-contamination, toxic chemicals, wet/humid environment, extreme heat (non-weather), and outdoor weather conditions.


Where And How You Will Work

This opportunity will be based on site at our Twin Falls, Idaho facility. Some overnight travel is required, up to 25% by land and/or air.
