Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Job Purpose:

The EHS Manager is responsible for the creation, upkeep and maintenance of all EHS Voltyx programs and policies. All programs and policies will be compliant with all applicable standards (OSHA, ANSI, IEEE, etc.) This includes both employee and customer facing documents. The Manager will create and oversee an EHS Steering Committee comprised of field employees, operations, EHS and others to validate all programs and policies prior to release to the field.

LOCATION: THIS IS LOCATED IN THE NORTHEAST DIVISION.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the company's Safety culture and demonstrate the EHS standard.
  • Conduct health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Help protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Assist with coaching, mentoring and implantation of EHS programs within the region.
  • Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and standards to ensure compliance as well as the requirements of the customers.
  • Conduct incident investigations to recommend root causes, corrective actions, owners, and timing for closure.
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report EHS statistical data, and prepare and provide recommendations to eliminate or minimize potential risks.
  • Assist with revising and developing/implementing policies and procedures that impact the safety and well-being of employees, customers, property, equipment and, as applicable, members of the public.
  • Validate all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, calibrated, and repaired or put out-of-service as necessary.
  • Partner with the operations team to ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are identified and are incorporated in the planning process and also determine control/remedial measures for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
  • Monitor the safety performance of the region including projects and services to ensure company and client procedures and requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Partner with the region to develop and promote improving EHS across the organization.
  • Support the overall organization and customers to improve and align policies, procedures, training, and expectations.
  • Facilitate regional safety conference calls and/or regional safety meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Health, Safety, and Environmental degree, preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of EHS experience, or equivalent field experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Ability to easily pick up on new safety software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity and understanding of industry power systems, processes, policies and of construction standards.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Capable of working outside in various weather conditions.
  • Travel up to 60%.
  • Ability to obtain safety certifications tied to industry standards.
