Job Description

HII's Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. This position is part of our Cyber and Intelligence division, which plays a critical role in supporting Enterprise-Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical facilities, and personnel operations.

The selected candidate will contribute to a high-impact government program focused on enhancing and securing mission-critical systems and environments. The program is scheduled to launch in early 2026 and due to the classified nature of the mission and the sensitivity of the operational environment, an active TS/SCI security clearance will be required. Candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain a CI poly.

Information Assurance Engineer 2: $85,371 - $118,529

Information Assurance Engineer 3: $104,519 - $140,599

Information Assurance Engineer 4: $135,472 - $192,103

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • You will provide expert cybersecurity engineering support to edge system stakeholders-including system owners, information security professionals, system engineers, and administrators-to ensure systems remain in full technical alignment with organizational security requirements.
  • In this role, you translate cybersecurity policies, controls, and risk management guidance into actionable engineering recommendations that strengthen the security posture of distributed and mission critical edge environments.
  • Key responsibilities include evaluating system architectures, identifying security gaps, and advising teams on secure design principles, hardening strategies, and compliance obligations.
  • You will review technical implementations, validate control effectiveness, and guide stakeholders through security engineering activities related to system upgrades, deployments, and operational changes.
  • You may also support security assessments, documentation development, boundary protection planning, and risk remediation recommendations.
  • Additionally, you will travel up to 25% annually to engage with field sites, perform on site technical reviews, collaborate with local stakeholders, and ensure edge systems are designed, configured, and maintained in accordance with organizational and mission focused security expectations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-9+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR
  • 0-7+ years experience with Masters in related field OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6-13+ years relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible hands-on experience as an information systems security professional
    Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in the following
    • Implementing and facilitating the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) within the DoD/IC
    • Applying secure configuration concepts, protocols, and security methodologies to local and Enterprise systems
    • Developing and implementing organizational-level cybersecurity programs, such as continuous monitoring, vulnerability managements, or incident response
    • Capturing, analyzing, and decomposing cybersecurity requirements applicable to information systems and developing solutions to address those requirements
    • Securing and evaluating information systems for compliance with DISA STIGs
    • Excellent initiative, motivation, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Active TS/SCI w/ ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a CI poly.


Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency and expertise in the following areas:
    • Configuring or operating industry-standard cybersecurity toolsets such as ACAS, Trellix, Splunk, ePO, Rapid7, and similar solutions
    • Operating ServiceNow's Continuous Authorization and Monitoring (CAM) module to maintain an Information System's body of evidence
    • Employing cyber resiliency engineering practices to include the methods, processes, modeling, and analytical techniques to identify and analyze proposed cybersecurity solutions
    • Working with a wide-range of vendors and technologies including Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, VMWare, NetApp, ServiceNow, etc.
