Your Role

The E-Discovery Services Project Manager (EDS PM) is responsible for managing end-to-end e-discovery projects for litigation, investigation, and regulatory matters. Acting as a liaison between lawyers, paraprofessionals, clients, IT professionals, review teams, and external service providers, the EDS PM will be responsible for adhering to established protocols and procedures and ensuring that electronically stored information (ESI) is handled in a defensible, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will bring strong project management skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to provide strategic guidance on best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Serving as a technology-focused project lead on assigned cases
  • Collaborating with case teams and client resources to identify, preserve and collect potentially relevant sources of ESI, through custodian questionnaires, interviews, instructions for self-collection or oversight through an external provider
  • Performing ingestion of client data or importing data collections, identifying, troubleshooting and resolving errors
  • Performing database administrative tasks, including but not limited to, creating or modifying views, layouts, fields, imaging and OCR sets
  • Collaborating with case teams on culling, search and review strategies
  • Provisioning user access, configuring group security and workspace permissions
  • Conducting quality control (QC) checks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy and defensibility
  • Fulfilling deliverables to ensure adherence to agreed upon exchange specifications
  • Providing guidance on data disposition and executing same


Project Governance and Oversight

  • Developing and managing project plans, budgets, metrics, timelines and workflows to ensure deliverables are completed within time and on budget
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and challenges, and proactively escalating issues to case teams or other stakeholders
  • Supporting and encouraging the use of our Managed Services Agreement for delivery of e-discovery services


Training

  • Conducting or participating in the training of lawyers and paraprofessionals in the best and most efficient use of the e-discovery tools and workflows
  • Contributing to process improvement, including updating templates, standards, guidelines and training materials
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on emerging technologies and trends


Education and Experience

  • A Law Clerk, Paralegal or Legal Administration diploma is preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in e-discovery, litigation support, project management, case management, or law clerk within a legal environment


Technical Skills

  • Completion of Relativity certifications required. Relativity Certified Administrator designation is preferred
  • Proficient in RelativityOne
  • Knowledge or experience with other e-discovery applications
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Strong understanding of e-discovery best practices, legal and regulatory requirements, and industry standards

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

  • Confidence interacting with lawyers, clients, and external service providers
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset


Additional Skills (any of the following would be considered an asset)

  • Membership or active participation in industry leading groups such as ACEDS, WiE, ILTA
  • PMP designation
  • Experience with scripting or query languages (e.g., SQL or Python)
  • Fluency in French language


Pay Range

$95,000 to $108,000 per annum. Pay range to be commensurate with experience.
