DVM Field Trainer Core Mission
We're seeking a skilled, people-first veterinarian to join our Learning & Development team as a
DVM Field Trainer. In this field-based role, you'll travel between hospitals to provide hands-on coaching in
medicine and surgery, offering real-time case support that helps associate veterinarians build
confidence, efficiency, and clinical excellence. Through mentorship and collaboration, you'll strengthen surgical capability, advance medical decision-making, and reinforce the Lovet standard of care across our hospitals.
Key Responsibilities Surgical Mentorship & Training Provide hands-on coaching in soft tissue surgery, including spays, neuters, and mass removals, various abdominal procedures, dentistry/extractions, with a focus on improving efficiency, technique, and confidence.
Clinical Case Support Guide associates through general practice case workups, diagnostics, and internal medicine management, helping to strengthen clinical reasoning and outcomes.
Skill Development Tracking Partner with Learning & Development to track progress, identify skill gaps, and support measurable improvement in clinical and surgical competencies.
Key Qualifications We are looking for a clinician who is both
technically strong and people-focused. Ideal candidates will have:
- Active Arizona veterinary license in good standing; willing to be licensed in IL and MI and other markets as we expand
- Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience in general practice
- Strong proficiency in soft tissue surgery dentistry.
- Confidence in general practice medicine and internal medicine case management
- Demonstrated ability or strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and coaching others
Structure & Expectations This is a
full-time, field-based role supporting multiple hospitals. You'll travel to provide on-site coaching and case support, partnering with hospital leadership and the L&D team to focus training where it's needed most.
- Travel regularly between assigned locations to provide on-site support and coaching.
- Partner with hospital leadership and the L&D team to prioritize training needs by site and by associate, maintaining a Monday-Friday schedule (weekends as-needed) with flexibility based on hospital needs.
