Job Summary

The Creative Director produces great work by setting the creative vision for their clients, and leading the work from brief to delivery with minimal oversight. This means representing the agency's creative recommendations to clients, production partners and all those outside Droga5. It means being comfortable in front of senior clients and leading client meetings, and directing the creative teams and ensuring they are motivated and working at their highest ability. And when it comes to collaborating with Droga5's many departments and production partners, it means communicating clearly and decisively, in a way that best maintains and builds on the agency's excellent creative reputation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of a project; have a creative vision that is clearly communicated and executed
  • Oversee multiple pieces of business at once, effectively managing time and delegating work
  • Manage creative teams, reviewing and providing feedback on work and guiding their career development
  • Manage productions with minor check-ins and reviews from senior leaders
  • Build client relationships with a deep understanding of clients, their business needs, and our role in their success. Establish full client trust in their instincts and decisions
  • Push for excellence and craft on every brief; rallies creative teams-keeping them inspired, on target, and eager to keep going, even under pressure
  • Lead internal and client presentations while making people feel, not just understand. Take client feedback and parse out what is valid, and how to respectfully and effectively push back on what isn't
  • Work with all disciplines to deliver projects of creative excellence on time


Basic Qualifications

  • Portfolio or samples of work demonstrating smart, brand-building ideas and executions


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior creation of award-winning or breakthrough work
  • Experience managing individuals and teams of people. Collaborative and team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple pieces of business and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work internally and with clients
  • Can work without a partner, if required
  • For CDs with an Art Direction background, expert proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign, and any new and emerging design-specific software
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills for effective communication to clients, internal staff and management
