The Opportunity:
Drafter/CAD Designer will provide computer‑aided design activities within the program’s hardware and deliverable development lifecycle. This role ensures that products, drawings, and documentation meet established quality standards while supporting engineers with accurate, compliant CAD artifacts. This role is critical to ensuring design accuracy and deliverable quality across the program’s lifecycle. The candidate will help reduce rework, improve reliability of final products, and accelerate engineering throughput through accurate CAD support.


Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical design on multiple projects through all phases of product lifecycle and take direction on tasks from lead project mechanical engineers

Develop and update 2D/3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.

Prepare shop drawings, design documentation, and layouts needed for fabrication and prototyping.

Ensure CAD outputs align with industry standards, program specifications, and configuration management requirements.

Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with technical requirements.

Support engineers by transforming conceptual designs into finalized technical CAD artifacts.

Create part models, assembly layouts, detailed drawings, and bills of materials using Creo for solid modeling

Qualifications:

Required:


Active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance


3 65 years of combined experience in CAD design/drafting and quality assurance


Experience supporting hardware, prototyping, or engineering development environments preferred.


Familiarity with configuration management and quality documentation practices.

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CREO, or similar tools.


Experience utilizing PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM to develop, audit, and release complex 3D parametric models and 2D detailed assembly drawings in strict compliance with ASME Y14.100 and military data standards


Comprehensive knowledge of MIL-STD-31000 for Technical Data Package (TDP) development , with proven experience generating, structuring, and maintaining TDP artifactsincluding 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications using PTC Creo and Windchill


Understanding of engineering principles, drafting standards, material specifications, and fabrication methods.


Experience executing QA procedures, inspections, audits, or test plans.
Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.


Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both QA documentation and CAD outputs.


Analytical and problemsolving mindset, able to identify issues and recommend solutions.


Effective communication skills for crossteam collaboration.


Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a dynamic, fastpaced program environment
