Swimming Pool Division Manager- Greater Cincinnati AreaA well-established residential design-build firm is seeking an experienced swimming pool professional to take full ownership of its growing Pool Division.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands how fiberglass pools are installed from start to finish and is ready to move into a leadership role with greater responsibility, professional upside, and less day-to-day physical labor.
The company specializes in high-end, complex outdoor living environments that may include swimming pools, patios, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, carpentry, landscaping, irrigation, and lighting. Most pools are incorporated into comprehensive outdoor living projects rather than sold as stand-alone installations.
The OpportunityThe Swimming Pool Division Manager will serve as the company's primary authority on swimming pools. You will oversee the complete pool-installation process, ensuring that every project is properly planned, coordinated, installed, and transitioned to the customer.
The company currently installs fiberglass pools and has established systems, experienced project-management support, and an in-house installation crew. Leadership sees a significant opportunity to expand the division, potentially adding a second installation crew, a pool maintenance and service operation, and additional pool types in the future.
The immediate priority is to place an experienced pool professional in charge of the division and to position the division for future growth.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of swimming pool projects from preconstruction planning through installation, startup, and completion.
- Coordinate pool delivery, site readiness, equipment, subcontractors, suppliers, crews, and project schedules.
- Ensure pools are properly laid out, set at the correct elevation, installed, plumbed, connected, and operational.
- Oversee filtration, circulation, plumbing, electrical coordination, controls, pumps, heaters, and related pool equipment.
- Meet with installation crews each morning and provide clear direction on priorities and expectations.
- Visit active job sites to monitor quality, progress, safety, and adherence to project plans.
- Coordinate closely with landscape architects, designers, project managers, and division leaders.
- Participate during the design and preconstruction process to ensure that pool designs are practical, installable, and properly integrated into the overall project.
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding schedules, installation milestones, and project expectations.
- Follow and help improve the company's established project-management system and detailed installation checklists in Monday.com.
- Train and develop field team members while establishing consistent installation standards.
- Track schedules, job progress, costs, and division performance, and provide regular updates to company leadership.
- Help develop the people, processes, and resources required to grow the Pool Division.
- Assist with other outdoor living projects when pool volume allows.
What We're Looking For- Significant experience with swimming pool installation, construction, or project management.
- Strong working knowledge of pool filtration, plumbing, electrical requirements, elevations, equipment, and startup procedures.
- The ability to coordinate pool deliveries, equipment installations, subcontractors, schedules, and job-site logistics.
- A strong understanding of how the individual components of a pool system work together.
- Excellent communication, organization, planning, and customer-service skills.
- The ability to lead crews, solve field problems, and hold projects accountable to quality and schedule expectations.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Willingness to remain involved in the field and occasionally work alongside the team when training employees or resolving complex installation issues.
Direct fiberglass-pool experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong experience installing gunite, shotcrete, vinyl-liner, or other pool systems will also be considered. Familiarity with Pentair equipment is a plus.
Ideal Candidate BackgroundThis opportunity may be particularly attractive to:
- A self-employed pool contractor who enjoys the industry but wants more stability, stronger support, improved work-life balance, and fewer administrative burdens.
- An experienced pool foreman who has been passed over for advancement and is ready to lead an entire division.
- A pool project manager who wants greater authority, ownership, and long-term growth potential.
- A seasoned pool professional who wants to move away from constant physical installation work while continuing to use their technical expertise.
- An outdoor living project manager with deep pool knowledge who can oversee pool installations and contribute to other complex residential projects.
The company prefers someone who is comfortable being hands-on initially while learning its systems and developing the team. However, an experienced manager who is better suited to coordination, leadership, and broader outdoor living project management may also be a strong fit.

- Influence future expansion into additional crews, pool service and maintenance, vinyl-liner pools, and potentially other pool-construction methods.
