Job Description

Sika is looking for a Director, Testing & Approvals to join it's growing team in the Canton, MA area for the Roofing business. Responsible for overall testing and approvals strategy and execution of programs to support the use of new and existing products and systems. By balancing needs versus wants against resource allocation and likelyhood of success, the Director, Testing and Approvals is instrumental in supporting the strategy and long-term success of the Roofing Division.
  • Lead, manage and execute the overall testing strategy for PVC, Modbit, LAM and Hot Asphalt roofing systems.
  • Manage relationships with third-party agencies (FM, UL, NEMO, Miami-Dade, etc.) to ensure market position, accessibility and opportune scheduling.
  • Oversee inside and outside testing programs from start to finish: create test plan, balance schedule, construct and ship test samples, witness testing, analyze results, and determine path to success.
  • Establish and maintain third party evaluations, approvals, listings and approvals (Miami-Dade NOAs, DORA, CRRC, TDI, etc.) for PVC, Modbit, LAM and Hot Asphalt roofing systems.
  • Manage laboratory and take advantage of inside testing to ensure success at third parties, as well as establish best practices.
  • Manage relationships with vendors to utilize existing data, conduct joint testing programs, establish and maintain private label agreements, and stay abreast of any new products on the market.
  • Work with the R&D, Sales and Technical Service to identify opportunities, threats, as well as market trends and needs.
  • Work hand in hand with R&D to innovate and evaluate new products and systems.


Qualifications
  • At least a 4-year degree in Engineering, Building Construction or Architecture
  • Technical knowledge with at least 5-10 years of related experience, preferrably roofing and waterproofing.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management, both internal and external
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel
