Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Director, Technical Accounting & Consolidations is responsible for the Company's consolidated financial reporting, sponsor reporting, technical accounting activities, and related internal controls. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role leads the consolidation process across multiple legal entities, ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, and serves as the primary accounting resource for complex and non-routine transactions.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting under a private equity ownership structure and works closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, external auditors, and sponsor stakeholders. The Director provides both strategic leadership and hands-on execution in consolidations, technical accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  1. Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation process across all legal entities, including intercompany eliminations, account reconciliations, equity roll-forwards, and consolidation adjustments.
  2. Maintain and enhance the consolidation structure within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, including entity hierarchies, account mappings, intercompany configurations, and reporting structures.
  3. Coordinate close activities and reporting timelines with accounting leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  4. Oversee accounting and reporting for acquired entities, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, goodwill, intangible assets, and ongoing amortization schedules.
  5. Partner with FP&A to ensure consistency and reconciliation between management reporting and financial reporting results.
  6. Prepare and manage recurring sponsor reporting packages, including required financial analyses, reporting schedules, and supporting documentation.
  7. Support lender reporting requirements, including covenant calculations, compliance certificates, and related financial disclosures.
  8. Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting matters and accounting positions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  9. Review significant contracts, agreements, leases, financing arrangements, and other transactions to determine proper accounting treatment.
  10. Lead accounting evaluations and implementation activities related to business combinations, acquisitions, divestitures, and other non-routine transactions.
  11. Develop, maintain, and enhance internal controls and SOX documentation related to financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting processes.
  12. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support audits, control testing, technical accounting reviews, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  13. Prepare and review financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules.
  14. Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, efficiencies, controls, and financial systems.
  15. Provide leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to accounting team members and business partners.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in financial reporting, consolidations, technical accounting, or corporate accounting.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to research and document technical accounting conclusions.
  • Experience with SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit support activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or comparable ERP systems, including consolidation and intercompany accounting functionality.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large and complex financial data sets.
  • Experience managing multi-entity financial consolidations and intercompany accounting processes.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a national or regional accounting firm.
  • Experience within telecommunications, fiber, utility, infrastructure, or other capital-intensive industries.
  • Experience supporting private equity, infrastructure fund, or sponsor-owned organizations.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, purchase accounting, and multi-entity corporate structures.
  • Experience preparing lender reporting packages and covenant compliance calculations
