Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Director, Tax Pursuits Lead who will own the pursuit process for our tax practice, from targeted opportunities through large, complex RFP responses. As Director, Tax Pursuits, you will play a critical role in driving growth across the Tax practice by leading the firm's most significant and complex pursuit opportunities.
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, Tax, you will partner closely with Tax leadership, partners, Practice and Industry leaders, and the broader Growth organization to manage high-value pursuits from strategy through close. This is a highly visible role for a leader who can operate comfortably with senior executives and partners, bring clarity to complex situations, and move teams toward a common objective, often under tight deadlines and significant pressure.
What Work You Will be Responsible For:- Lead major Tax pursuits from opportunity assessment through proposal, presentation, client interaction, and pursuit close, providing structure and disciplined execution throughout the process.
- Shape pursuit strategy by working with partners and Tax leadership to understand the client, opportunity, competitive environment, and priorities and develop a differentiated approach.
- Coach partners and pursuit teams to sharpen messaging, strengthen client interactions, and prepare for critical meetings and presentations.
- Lead the development of proposals and presentations, synthesizing complex technical information and diverse perspectives into a clear, compelling client story.
- Connect the dots across Tax, Practice, Industry, and other relevant firm capabilities to create a coordinated and compelling approach to major opportunities.
- Manage multiple high-priority pursuits and changing requirements while maintaining quality, judgment, and composure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in an accounting firm or professional services environment, including significant experience leading complex proposals or pursuits, required.
- Experience leading complex pursuits within a Tax practice at an accounting firm required.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:- Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with pursuit management, collaboration, presentation, and document management tools preferred.
- Experience within a Tax practice and demonstrated experience working directly with, and coaching partners and senior leaders on high-value pursuits preferred.
