Job DescriptionThe
Director, Quality Supplier, is responsible for driving internal and external supplier quality and development initiatives. This individual will be a customer focused transformational leader driving execution across supply categories strategically focusing resources across 1000+ suppliers.
This position will serve our Enterprise Division, located in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid).
ResponsibilitiesWHAT YOU'LL DO- Implement Rheem's Supplier Risk Management Model with global supply base.
- Develop robust processes and standard work for all the processes of the Supplier Risk Management operating model
- Design and execute a risk-based approach to optimize audit and development resources.
- Focus high-touch transformational efforts on high risk, high-value components while automating governance of low-risk commodities.
- Automate Digital Quality with real-time visibility into vendor performance.
- Provide strategic leadership, training, development and direction to Enterprise Supplier Quality and Development teams at all levels of the organization.
- Embed APQP and PPAP deeply into New Product Introduction ensuring Supplier Readiness.
- Build a Supplier Development playbook to implement at critical but failing suppliers. Partner with internal customers to protect throughput and on-time delivery while maximizing quality and customer satisfaction.
- Establish a rigorous financial traceability and chargeback program to map field failures back to root-cause suppliers
- Implement Supplier Process Certification for key characteristics owned by the supply base with reporting to maintain visibility and performance.
Establish a methodology to monitor and measure adherence to Rheem Supplier Quality Manual, Quality Management System, regulatory and industry standards.
QualificationsWHAT YOU NEED- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in Global Supplier Quality across diverse regions (North America, APAC, LATAM, EMEA)
- Proven record of managing global supply chains with 1000+ active suppliers or handling high-volume spending portfolio (e.g. $500M+)
- 7+ years of recent experience with company producing Electro-mechanical products with long product lifecycles and warranty liabilities (e.g. automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or major home appliances).
- Hands-on experience implementing enterprise-wide QMS, supplier quality software, or Industry 4.0+ data analytics tools to replace manual or legacy processes.
- Expert level knowledge of APQP and PPAP in bringing new products to market.
- Expert level knowledge of problem-solving methodologies like 8D, Red-X, Six Sigma, etc.
- Ability to lead, develop talent and manage performance with 10+ years of prior experience managing and leading a team of professionals
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office, MS Project or Clarity, and Data Analysis software (i.e. Minitab).
HOW TO STAND OUT- Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, MBA or related graduate degree.
