The Role:This role has two salary ranges, depending on the level at which the candidate is hired:
- Director Interior Design: 101,200.00 - 168,700.00
- Senior Director Interior Design: $121,200 - $202,000
The final level will be determined based on each candidate's professional experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
The Director/Sr. Director of Interior Design will shape the vision and strategic direction of interior design across Vivmark's multifamily development and renovation projects for multiple regions. As a senior design leader, this role will provide creative leadership, guiding teams and cross-functional partners toward a shared vision while establishing a consistently high bar for design quality. The Director/Sr. Director will build and mentor a high performing design studio and will champion design quality, drive process improvements, and create a team culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Leadership & Project Management- Lead design vision and execution for all interior-related projects, including new developments, capital improvement projects, and renovations.
- Oversee a portfolio of projects from concept through construction completion, ensuring design excellence and quality.
- Direct and perform all phases of interior design, including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, FF&E selection, procurement coordination, and construction administration.
- Manage project pipelines, forecasting, staffing plans, and department priorities to meet business objectives.
Team Leadership & Studio Development- Establish and grow a Dallas-based interior design studio, including recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and professional development of designers.
- Build a scalable team structure that supports current and future project volume.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on creativity, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Manage workload planning, resource allocation, and team utilization to ensure effective project delivery and team development.
- Proactively collaborate with Arlington, VA based design studio for design quality, consistency and efficiency.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design discipline from an accredited institution.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in Interior Design, Architecture, or related fields, including leadership of multifamily residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or large-scale commercial projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, mentoring talent, and managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Expertise across all phases of the design process, including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, and FF&E procurement.
- Strong project management, budgeting, scheduling, and consultant management experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on project execution.
- Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Enscape, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel periodically within the US.
Preferred- NCIDQ Certification.
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential.
