Qualifications

  • Current Michigan RN license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school (Master’s preferred).
  • 1-2 years of inpatient med/surg or critical care experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification needed.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications required within specific timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards aligned with organizational requirements.
  • Direct and evaluate departmental operations to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring and continuing education initiatives.

  • Foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into departmental operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Registered Nurse (RN) Director Emergency Department 

Job Type: Full-Time | 1.0 FTE or 80 hours/pp | Salaried/Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Friday Day Shifts

 

$15,000 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants

ED provides unscheduled outpatient services to patients whose condition requires immediate care. ED is staffed 24/7/365.   ED provides meaningful work with a wide variety of tasks.   There are lots of learning opportunities, a teamwork-oriented environment and plenty of excitement.  Change is constant and it can often be emotionally taxing and stressful.  One to two years of inpatient med/surg or critical care experience is preferred.  

How you'll contribute

An ED RN Director who excels in this role:

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school (master’s preferred).

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
