POSITION SUMMARY:

Position Summary
The healthcare director of case management serves as a resource for the case management team and other departments, and reports to the CNO. This position also provides direct supervision of other case managers. The position holds a leadership position that requires clinical experience and an advanced degree. Individuals in this role must also possess comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, familiarity with government regulations on healthcare plans, strategic planning skills, and an understanding of the operations of a healthcare organization. Case management nursing involves planning, assessing, monitoring, and managing patient care. An important goal of case management is to ensure that patients receive quality care in the most cost-effective manner. RNs working within the case management department of a healthcare organization are responsible for determining patient eligibility for certain treatments, coordinating patient services, and developing treatment plans. Case management nurses work with patients and their families to ensure that the treatment being received will lead to desired health results.

32; Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
32; Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

32; Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

32; Perform other duties as assigned.
