Job Summary and QualificationsJob Summary: The Director Resource Optimization Operations is responsible for bringing deep operational, financial, and business-unit expertise to the PI Resource Optimization Operations. This role serves as the bridge between analytics and real-world execution by validating opportunities, assessing operational feasibility, identifying barriers, and translating insights into practical actions that can be adopted by corporate, division, facility, and shared services leaders.
The role partners with internal subject matter experts, corporate functions, field operators, Finance, HR, and Performance Improvement leaders to identify value creation opportunities across labor management, corporate overhead, productivity, fixed cost, spans and layers, requisition governance, and operational redesign.
Responsibilities: - Leads operational validation of enterprise value creation opportunities identified by the PI Resource Optimization Operations.
- Partners with corporate, field, and shared services leaders to evaluate feasibility, implementation complexity, operational risk, and expected impact.
- Applies operational knowledge to challenge assumptions, refine opportunity sizing, and identify practical execution pathways.
- Supports clean-sheet labor and organizational design reviews across corporate and targeted business areas.
- Identifies operational best practices from high-performing functions, facilities, or business units and supports replication across lower-performing areas.
- Assesses current workflows, staffing models, spans and layers, role design, productivity practices, and fixed-cost structures.
- Partners with HR and business leaders on organizational design, redundancy analysis, requisition and backfill reviews, and labor governance processes.
- Develops recommendations that balance financial impact, operational continuity, colleague considerations, and execution feasibility.
- Supports Corporate LMAT governance by preparing operational findings, risks, dependencies, and implementation recommendations.
- Facilitates working sessions with business owners to align on opportunity scope, action plans, timing, ownership, and expected outcomes.
- Supports handoff of approved initiatives to business leaders and monitors early execution progress.
- Builds strong relationships with senior operators, finance leaders, HR partners, and corporate functional leaders.
- Coaches team members on healthcare operations, business-unit dynamics, and practical implementation considerations.
Required Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in analytics, finance, performance improvement, healthcare operations, consulting, labor management, or enterprise transformation
- Experience using large datasets to identify financial or operational improvement opportunities
- Experience with benchmarking, productivity analysis, cost analysis, financial modeling, or operational performance tools
- Experience preparing executive-level insights, dashboards, or analytical recommendations
- Healthcare operations or health system experience
Preferred Education & Experience: - Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Data Science, or related field - Preferred
- Experience with AI-enabled analytics, fixed-cost tools, margin insight tools, StrategyHub, or similar enterprise platforms
