Job Overview

The position is responsible for providing both clinical and operational oversight to facilitate workflow standardization to drive efficiency in radiation oncology. Will oversee operations at four radiation oncology sites for the Tufts Medicine system: Tufts Medical Center/Boston, Tufts Medical Center /Framingham, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital/Stoneham, and Lowell General Hospital/Lowell. This is a clinical leadership position and will include some clinical care delivery.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Relevant clinical experience in radiation oncology (such as APC licensure or other allied health professionals)

2. Seven (7) years of radiation oncology operational leadership experience in both clinical care delivery and operational leadership

3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Ten (10) years of radiation oncology operational leadership experience in both clinical care delivery and operational leadership

2. Experience with radiation oncology software implementation and IT system standardization, system integration, and interface development required

3. Experience with operational oversight and team management

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1.Operational Management - Provides leadership in developing quality driven and cost-effective programs of care.

2. Responsible for driving efficiency and consistency in clinical care delivery and associated operational workflows for radiation oncology team.

3. Evaluates current state and identify approach and implementation plan to support changes.

4. Drive updates to radiation oncology model to ensure high-quality, safe patient care and efficient workflows across radiation oncology department, across four sites of care including both AMC and community settings.

5. Creates common documentation and ordering system and processes.

6. Facilitates cross team coordination within radiation oncology team and other clinical Departments.

7. Conducts quality assurance activities and develop and implement quality improvement programs, ensuring they align with departmental and institutional goals.

8. Develops, updates and standardizes policies and procedures for use across the system.

9. Facilitates patient access.

10. Software Implementation and Data Reporting - Creates common IT infrastructure across system radiation oncology departments, including creating interfaces across Epic and radiation oncology EHR systems.

11. Facilitates implementation and standardization of new software systems for radiation oncology.

12. Acts as the liaise with key stakeholders across Epic/IT and radiation oncology clinical team to develop data reporting and analytic capabilities that incorporate radiation oncology systems and Epic.

13. Develops and manages reports to enable operational oversight and management.

14. Establishes Common dashboard and operational metrics for system.

15. Business Administration and Financial Management - Establishes standardized revenue cycle processes.

16. Facilitates major equipment purchases and implementation and develop standard approach for standard equipment review process.

17. System Development - Develops system radiation oncology model to leverage personnel and expertise across multiple sites (e.g. dosimetry).

18. Provides patient care; assist in all aspects of radiation oncology clinical care in collaboration with physicians.

19. Leads multi-disciplinary projects involving both radiation oncology and other departments.

20. Facilitates business development through outreach and growth activities.

21. Personal Management; Clinical Team leadership - Supervises Radiation Oncology Staff.

22. Supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports.

23. Serves as member of clinical leadership team; Foster a culture of collaboration, equity, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking

2. Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients and equipment.

3. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.

4. Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, sick patients, bodily substances, noise and possible exposure to radiation, lasers, electric shock, etc.

5. Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases and other transmissible infections.

6. Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances.

7. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.

8. Handle emergency and crisis situations.

9. May have contact with hazardous materials.

Skills & Abilities:

1.Significant experience with radiation oncology

2.Experience with software implementation and IT system standardization, system integration, and interface development required

3. Experience with operational oversight and team management

Pay Range:

$162,773.52 - $207,541.52
