Job Summary

The Director, Product & Portfolio Management serves as the business owner for assigned technologies and product categories, accountable for defining product strategy, market requirements, commercial potential, and lifecycle priorities to drive sustainable growth and portfolio performance.

The Director translates customer, clinical, competitive, regional, and market insights into product and portfolio decisions, including roadmap priorities, product requirements, positioning, pricing, launch strategy, and lifecycle investments. Working cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Regional Marketing, Commercial, Innovation Delivery, and Program Management, the Director ensures products are developed and commercialized around meaningful customer needs and clear business opportunities. Innovation Delivery and Program Management remain accountable for program execution, timelines, governance, risk management, and operational delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product & Portfolio Strategy (30%)
  • Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and business priorities for assigned products and technology categories.
  • Translate market, customer, clinical, and competitive insights into differentiated product requirements and investment priorities.
  • Lead product prioritization and trade-off recommendations based on customer value, strategic fit, commercial potential, investment requirements, lifecycle stage, profitability, and business impact.
  • Optimize the assigned product portfolio across customer need, strategic fit, growth potential, investment requirements, lifecycle stage, and profitability.
  • Represent the voice of the customer and the business throughout product development and lifecycle decision-making.


Market Intelligence & Business Planning (20%)
  • Develop business cases, market models, pricing strategies, forecasting assumptions, and adoption targets for assigned products and portfolio initiatives.
  • Lead market research, voice-of-customer activities, KOL engagement, segmentation, and competitive intelligence to identify unmet needs and growth opportunities.


  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, regional requirements, product performance, revenue, utilization, and profitability to inform business decisions.


Product Lifecycle Management (20%)
  • Lead product strategy across the full lifecycle, from concept and development through launch, growth, maturity, enhancement, transition, and end-of-life.
  • Provide the business perspective on sustaining product decisions, including design changes, software updates, manufacturing changes, quality improvements, and product configurations.
  • Assess lifecycle performance and recommend investments, enhancements, rationalization, or transition strategies to optimize portfolio value.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure customer, market, and commercial requirements are incorporated into significant product decisions.


Commercialization, Launch & Adoption (20%)
  • Own product positioning, value proposition, messaging, pricing strategy, claims direction, and foundational product marketing strategy.
  • Lead global commercialization and launch strategy in partnership with Regional Marketing, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Training, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Establish launch objectives, adoption targets, and success measures and ensure regional teams are equipped to effectively commercialize assigned products.
  • Monitor launch, adoption, and product performance and drive actions to improve market uptake, customer value, and commercial results.


Cross-Functional & Global Leadership (10%)
  • Serve as the primary business leader and decision partner for assigned products, aligning global and regional stakeholders around product priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Influence cross-functional decisions by bringing together customer insight, clinical needs, market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and business priorities.
  • Partner closely with Innovation Delivery and Program Management, maintaining clear accountability between product/business ownership and program execution.
  • Build strong relationships across functions and geographies to accelerate decision-making and ensure successful development and commercialization.

12+ years of progressive experience in product management, portfolio management, upstream marketing, strategic marketing, or related roles within energy-based devices, Dermatology and Medical Aesthetics (strongly preferred), or healthcare/wellness industry. Demonstrated experience translating customer and market insights into product strategy, business cases, product requirements, pricing, portfolio decisions, and successful global commercialization.
