Responsibilities

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking a Director of Outpatient Services.

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for the oversight of Branches Grand Rapids programs, including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. The Director manages all activities involving outpatient referrals from initial call through completion of treatment plans, coordinating caseloads, developing and managing the outpatient staff, and marketing the program.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the leadership, implementation and evaluation of Outpatient Programs and Services.
  • Develops hospital policy and procedure for areas of responsibility.
  • Evaluates, audits and maintains standards for areas of responsibility in compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Serves as a member of the senior management team, including decision-making, financial goals, organizational goals, and Administrator On-Call, as needed. Takes calls for the special departmental needs.
  • Responsible or delegates for employee hiring, performance appraisals, corrective action, professional recognition and growth of staff members.
  • Promote new program and business development. Participates in marketing outpatient program.
  • Provides leadership and accountability for the departmental budget, FTEs and staffing levels.
  • Develop and maintain departmental quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives while participating in hospital quality improvement plan.
  • Responsible for overseeing department safety responsibilities.
  • Responsibilities also include oversight/maintenance of Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's Degree from an accredited university in the field of social work, counseling, psychology, or another mental health related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.
  • Licensure: Current LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT (license issued by the State of Michigan).
  • Additional Requirements: A strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agencies' regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws regulating mental health care facilities. CPR and HWC/CPI training certification must be completed before providing direct care services.
Schedule: The hours for this positions are Full Time, Salary Basis, Monday - Friday.
