Full Job Description
Summary:

The Director for Oncology is accountable for the leadership, direction and implementation of Oncology services for the CHRISTUS St. Vincent ministry. In collaboration with clinical leaders ensures the delivery of high quality and patient-centered care. The leader will facilitate the development and implementation of a strategic plan with all stakeholders who support and advance the regions overall strategic and program goals. The Director promotes high levels of satisfaction with patients, providers, and staff by proactively addressing concerns through meaningful measures and interventions. They are responsible to collaborate with inpatient partners to develop, implement and achieve service line goals including care coordination, quality initiatives and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and monitor all activities within the oncology service line including: Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Hematology, Navigation services, Patient Resource Center, and on-site Laboratory
  • Execute strategies to increase patient access to services, patient experience, and quality to include oversight of accreditation programs and new reimbursement models
  • Execute mid and long-range strategic initiatives to optimize operational performance.
  • Stay current on the competitive landscape, best practice and emerging technology.
  • Develop and manage budget, ensuring that operating expenses and revenues are in-line with organization expectations.
  • Assure compliance and continued participation with accreditation and regulatory standards
  • A proven ability to integrate service line development plans with clinical objectives and goals and to work across a wide range of care delivery environments and providers.


Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in a work-related field is required
  • Able to proceed on own initiative using independent judgement and discretion
  • Work effectively in a matrix organization including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
