Full Job Description
Purpose of Position

The Director of Crew Training and Compliance Programs (Director of Training) is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of crew training and compliance programs that support EJM's Part 135 operating certificate and ensure alignment with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations, company policies, industry standards, and best practices related to flight operations training and standardization.

The Director is responsible for maintaining and enhancing training programs, overseeing compliance monitoring processes within EJM's operational systems, and ensuring the organization meets all training and regulatory requirements necessary to support safe and compliant operations. The position also manages relationships with training vendors, oversees contractual obligations, and represents EJM's interests in vendor negotiations.

In addition, the Director of Training is responsible for monitoring developments within the business aviation industry, including changes to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and other regulatory requirements, and incorporating those changes into EJM's training and compliance programs as appropriate.

The Director must possess prior experience supporting a Part 121 or Part 135 certificate holder, with demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations, training program administration, compliance monitoring, and regulatory interactions necessary to support safe and compliant flight operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Develops curriculum for Crewmember training and oversees the implementation of required training programs based on current regulatory requirements and/or business priorities.
• Creates a positive learning environment that focuses on safety of flight, service, and brand enhancement.
• Provides back up instructor duties for initial and recurrent classes in Lunken and with offsite crewmembers.
• Responsible for the oversight and auditing of third-party training vendors to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, FAA guidance, EJM operating policies and training programs.
• Responsible for the FAA-Approved Crewmember Training Program Manual (CTPM).
• Provides technical writing assistance and ensures alignment across all documents in the Operations Manual System.
• Responsible for operations change management and the Policy and Procedures Review Group processes.
• Serve as liaison between EJM Safety dept. and Flight Operations dept. to recommend operational or training changes based on identified trends and/or concerns obtained from mandatory and voluntary reporting systems and deidentified data.
• Responsible for operational compliance assurance systems and associated integrations.

Education

Bachelor's in Aviation or related field

Years of Experience

5+ years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
• Check Airman, Ground Instructor or Instructor Pilot experience with a Part 121 or part 135 or 91K air carrier, preferred
• Line pilot qualifications, active or inactive appropriate for the position, preferred
• Technical Writing experience and experience in evaluating 8900.1 guidance.
• Five or more years supervisory experience with a Part 121 or Part 135 air carrier.
• Excellent project management skills required.
• Experience functioning in or interfacing with industry associations and regulatory agencies required.
• Superior oral and written communication skills effective at all levels or the organization.
• Ability to understand, assimilate and operate in a highly complex, interrelated environment required.
