Job Summary

A Director of Tax and Treasury professional manages an organization's cash flow, banking relationships, and tax liabilities to optimize financial health. They balance short-term liquidity with long-term financial strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing tax burdens.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Functions:
  • Cash Management: Monitor daily cash inflows/outflows, reconcile accounts, and forecast liquidity to avoid cash shortages.
  • Risk Management: Mitigate financial risks by managing foreign exchange exposures and interest rate fluctuations through hedging programs.
  • Capital Structure: Develop and execute strategies for debt/equity financing and optimize the company's investment portfolio.
  • Banking Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for financial institutions and manage corporate bank accounts.

Tax Functions:
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns (including sales and use tax).
  • Strategic Planning: Design tax-efficient structures for international operations, mergers, acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.
  • Audit & Risk: Track legislative changes, manage relationships with third-party tax advisors, and represent the company during tax audits.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or Economics.
  • Certifications: Professional credentials like a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) are highly preferred.
