ABOUT THE JOB

The Director, Strategic Supply Chain supports engineering and production teams with the development and execution of sourcing plans. As the Director of Strategic Supply Chain this individual will be responsible for managing a team of sourcing engineers and subcontract managers who will be the central point of contact for all supply chain needs in the product development process internally and externally. In this role, you will work with engineering, product program office and the broader production leadership team to support strategic sourcing initiatives and planning in pursuit of program and manufacturing goals, and lead cross-functional projects to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and scale the Supplier Industrialization Engineering team, building a high-performing organization that drives supplier manufacturing readiness from new product introduction (NPI) through sustained production.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent; hold a high bar through coaching, feedback, and accountability.
  • Own the supplier industrialization process end-to-end: supplier capability assessments, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), process capability validation, and First Article Inspection (FAI) to ensure suppliers are qualified and production-ready, critical components, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and resilience across the industrial base and capacity planning to support radical production rate increases.
  • Establish and maintain supplier quality standards and compliance with aerospace and defense
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance to align supplier industrialization activities with program milestones and business objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and scale the Strategic Sourcing team, building a high-performing organization that drives strategic sourcing for nascent products and develops an industrial strategy to support supply chain through production and sustainment. Attract, develop, and retain top talent; hold a high bar through coaching, feedback, and accountability.
  • Partner with chief engineers and program managers of our most nascent programs to ensure the products they are defining are designed and pitched with a supply chain capable of delivering on their cost, schedule, and performance targets.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic agreements and partnerships with suppliers that capture cost savings, enable roadmap alignment, and strengthen the supply base for AD&S's products.
  • Align supplier roadmaps with AD&S's portfolio vision and roadmap, to enable the supply base to support AD&S as it expands.
  • Drive optionality and competition into the supply base, ensuring the supply base can support Anduril today and in the future.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supplier Industrialization, Procurement, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance to align strategic sourcing activities with program milestones and business objectives.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and supplier scorecards to track industrial base health. Provide regular executive-level reporting on risks, opportunities, and performance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to the supply chain, such as disruptions to supply or changes in market conditions.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with overall business goals, aiming for supply continuity, quality, efficiency and cost optimization while enabling the business to scale significantly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment specifically in a supply chain or production-related role focused on complex mechanical and/or electrical assembly. At least 5+ years experience in a leadership position.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MBA or Master's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field.
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or another related industry.
  • Proven leadership in driving and influencing large teams toward common goals.
  • Strong team player who can adapt to different roles to support team progress, including individual contributor tasks while managing a small team.


US Salary Range

$220,000-$292,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
