Director of Strategic Sourcing

Location: Atlanta

The Director of Strategic Sourcing will lead the development and execution of enterprise sourcing and category strategies across approximately $900 million in annual third-party spend. The role is accountable for delivering measurable financial, operational, risk-management, and supplier-performance outcomes while enabling the organization’s strategic priorities.

The Director will lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team, advise senior leaders on complex commercial decisions, and partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and business-unit stakeholders. This leader will apply external market intelligence, disciplined category management, rigorous negotiation, and strong supplier governance to improve total cost of ownership, manage third-party risk, accelerate innovation, and preserve value throughout the contract lifecycle.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies aligned with business goals.

  • Solicit new business opportunities and partnerships. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders. 
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with company standards. 
  • Engage proactively with internal stakeholders—including Finance, Legal, Operations, and Business Units—to understand needs, align sourcing strategies, and ensure seamless collaboration. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on sourcing initiatives and risk management. 
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication to resolve issues, drive consensus, and support organizational objectives. 

 

Role Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in general business, financial, accounting, or related disciplines. 
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in procurement and contract negotiation in a strategic sourcing or procurement function. 
  • History of analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex vendor relationships. 
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing without authority across diverse teams. 
  •  A track record of building trust and fostering collaboration at all organizational levels. 

·         Prefer experience in a global, regulated, financial-services, payments, or technology-intensive environment.

 

 

Work Shift
