Full Job Description
Job Summary

The Sourcing Director is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing programs across multiple spend categories at Foodbuy, Compass Group, and LLC members. This includes leading and developing a team of sourcing professionals, delivering measurable commercial value against projects, and building partnerships internally and externally that strengthen Foodbuy programs.

This role requires strategic planning, leading supplier negotiations, driving implementations, building strong stakeholder partnerships, and developing a high-performing team that deliver sustainable financial and operational results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives across enterprise categories (Supplies, Equipment, Services, Center of Plate, Grocery, Bakery, or Front of House).
  • Leads competitive sourcing events, supplier negotiations, contract development, and supplier relationship management.
  • Deliver measurable commercial results on the P&L through cost savings, revenue growth, risk mitigation, and value creation for procurement and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders, members, and sectors to understand and support their vendor needs; work with managers and key partners to identify opportunities to leverage purchasing power.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Category Management, Distribution, Operations, Finance, and Implementation teams to successfully launch sourcing initiatives.
  • Utilize market intelligence, spend analytics, and supplier insights to identify sourcing opportunities and support business decisions.
  • Establish and monitor sourcing performance metrics, reporting, and implementation progress.
  • Continuously improve sourcing processes, governance, and best practices to increase efficiency and speed to value.
  • Stay current on market trends and supplier capabilities to bring innovative solutions to Foodbuy and its members


Qualifications & Experience
  • Passion for relationships and partnerships
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
  • Strong commercial, financial, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and lead organizational change.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Up to 30% travel.
