The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Service & Accounts who is responsible for providing effective leadership to our electrical Service & Accounts Department through all aspects of the project life cycle from business development through project close out. This position is accountable for the safety, quality, estimation, project management, and profitability of all projects and customers managed through this department.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Field Compliance: Ensures a safe and incident-free workplace; perform field audits to monitor field personnel work habits and safety performance; attends company and project safety meetings; and promotes and reinforces safe work practices and compliance with company safety expectations.
- Leadership & Team Development: Manages and develops a team of Service & Accounts Department Project Managers/Estimators and Field Personnel; provides leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management to department personnel; and fosters accountability, teamwork, and professional development across the department.
- Operations & Project Management: Ensures resource and work schedules are maintained in coordination with appropriate departments; ensures the Service & Accounts Department consistently implements the Company's Project Management methodology and key project milestones; monitors operational performance and identify opportunities to improve departmental processes and efficiency; and maintains appropriate coordination between field personnel, project management, estimating, and other supporting departments.
- Performance Management & Continuous Improvement: Maintains all reporting and performance indicators for the Service & Accounts Department; monitors key performance metrics and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement; and recommends and implements process improvements to enhance departmental performance, efficiency, and profitability.
- Customer Relations & Service Excellence: Develops and maintains strong relationships with existing customers; increases customer satisfaction and deepen existing customer relationships; services clients in a timely, professional, and respectful manner while meeting or exceeding customer expectations; and maintains regular communication with customers to understand their needs and ensure effective resolution of issues.
- Financial Management: Ensures accurate and timely revenue and cost reporting; ensures team is communicating project cost inconsistencies within the organization and report any major issues to the Vice President - Electrical Services; reviews monthly reports from team detailing projected revenues and costs at project completion; refers all potential legal or contractual problems concerning projects to senior leadership; and ensures timeliness of billing and collections for Service & Accounts Department Projects.
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or other related field or comparable equivalent of education and work experience.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in management/leadership roles in electrical construction related businesses and industries.
- Strong knowledge of the local area's construction services industry and/or other related service-oriented organizations.
- Exhibited knowledge of industrial electrical customer's expectations.
- Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, Primavera 6 and MS Project.
- Local to York, Pennsylvania but with regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
