WHAT YOU'LL DO...

The Director of Sales, Waterplay (North America and Europe) leads commercial strategy and revenue growth for one of the aquatic play industry's most recognized brands. This role is responsible for driving market expansion, strengthening channel and specification partnerships, and developing a high-performing sales organization across North America and selected international markets.

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, the Director partners with Operations, Product Development, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Finance to align commercial execution with MAKR Group business objectives and accelerate scalable growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

Commercial Strategy & Growth:

  • Lead and execute Waterplay's commercial growth strategy
  • Drive revenue, margin, and market share growth across key markets
  • Expand market presence across municipal, commercial, hospitality, and recreation sectors
  • Develop new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and distribution channels
  • Lead specification-driven growth through engagement with architects, consultants, and municipal stakeholders
  • Develop territory, channel, and key account strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Leverage advanced sales technologies, AI-powered tools, and data analytics to optimize sales performance, improve forecasting accuracy, enhance customer engagement, and drive revenue growth.


Sales Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead a multi-channel sales organization including regional sales leaders, account managers, dealers/distributors, and strategic accounts
  • Build and develop a high-performing, data-driven sales culture
  • Design scalable team structures, compensation plans, and performance management processes
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top sales talent


Channel & Customer Leadership:

  • Strengthen dealer and distributor relationships while ensuring alignment with Waterplay standards
  • Oversee channel performance, dealer agreements, and successful project execution
  • Develop strategic relationships with customers, consultants, and industry stakeholders
  • Foster a customer-centric culture focused on retention and repeat business


Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure CRM adoption, pipeline integrity, forecasting accuracy, and reporting discipline
  • Own the Sales operating budget, ensuring disciplined financial management, margin governance, and alignment of sales investments with revenue and profitability targets.
  • Lead sales enablement initiatives and standardized sales processes
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools to support data-driven decisions
  • Partner cross-functionally to align commercial execution with operational and financial objectives

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kelowna, BC (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC V1Y 7G6), working Monday to Friday on 8-hour shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 plus years of progressive sales leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or related field required; MBA considered an asset
  • Proven success achieving revenue and profitability targets
  • Experience leading multi-channel sales organizations across regional or international markets
  • Strong understanding of specification-driven and project-based sales
  • Experience in municipal, commercial, construction, landscape architecture, recreation, or related industries is an asset
  • Strong financial, forecasting, and business acumen
  • Advanced CRM experience (Salesforce, NetSuite, HubSpot, or equivalent)
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30-50%)
