Job Summary:

The Director of Rehabilitation Services will plan, administer, and direct operation of rehabilitation programs such as physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Responsible for the overall success of their assigned program/s. They will report directly to Regional Director of Therapy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the Rehab Department.
  • As a facility department head, will actively participate within the interdisciplinary team (IDT)
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Carries a clinical caseload
  • Provide direction and leadership to all therapy staff
  • Ensures program compliance through review for accurate billing, documentation, and support to therapy staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining optimal staffing mix. Including recruitment, orientation, development, retention, scheduling, and employee engagement of therapy staff.
  • Clinical management of therapy department through patient identification, case management, care planning, and clinical utilization.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to drive clinical excellence and supportive facility culture
  • Ensures rehabilitation staff is providing appropriate care to Resident in keeping with established standards for quality and in accordance with generally established principles of care.
  • Supervises the scheduling of residents for therapy services considering available treatment hours, staff resources and overall plan of care.
  • Manages the evaluation and development of in-house therapy programs including equipment assessment and staffing ratios.
  • Completes required forms and documents timely, in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
