Qualifications

• 7-10 years in public policy, government affairs, or lobbying at the state or municipal level.
• Proven track record in advancing policy initiatives related to transportation, education, or technology.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for influencing and negotiating with stakeholders.
• Preferred experience in public speaking and media engagement.
• Robust analytical and research skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Highly organized self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and a passion for child safety.
• Preferred Juris Doctorate/law degree or an advanced degree in public administration or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct state-by-state analysis of laws and regulations related to traffic safety.
• Draft and negotiate legislation, providing analyses and strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Collaborate with external lobbyists and advocacy partners to fulfill policy goals at the state level.
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate policy needs into actionable steps.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on legislative and regulatory issues affecting growth and compliance.
• Create briefing materials and policy papers to establish BusPatrol as a leader in traffic safety technology.
• Represent the organization at conferences, policy forums, and other public engagements.
• Contribute to communication strategies for coalition-building and stakeholder engagement.
