Position Overview

FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics is a leader in human iPSC-derived products and services that support disease modeling, drug discovery, and toxicology/safety pharmacology. The Director of Product Marketing will lead portfolio strategy and commercialization for the product offering, including cardiovascular, neural, endothelial, hepatic, immune, and other emerging cell models, associated media, assay and related offerings. This role is responsible for defining portfolio strategy, market positioning and communication strategy, lifecycle management, pricing, launch excellence, and go-to-market execution to accelerate growth, strengthen market leadership, and ensure the portfolio meets evolving customer and application needs across pharma, biotech, and academic research markets.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead the product marketing function across the portfolio, including portfolio strategy, positioning, service offer definition, and commercialization planning for cell models, media, kits, and related solutions.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Co-own the annual strategic planning process to define portfolio priorities, growth opportunities, segment focus, and investment cases aligned with company objectives.
    • Own portfolio reviews in partnership with R&D, Operations, Sales, and Finance to assess product-market fit, product performance, roadmap priorities, supply considerations, and margin optimization.
    • Develop and maintain market segmentation, customer needs analyses, target market opportunity assessments, and competitive intelligence to inform roadmap, positioning, and growth strategy.
  • Product Management:
    • Own the product lifecycle from concept through launch, growth, optimization, and end-of-life planning, ensuring clear portfolio priorities and disciplined decision-making.
    • Translate voice of customer, application trends, and market requirements into clear product requirements, business cases, and portfolio recommendations.
    • Partner with R&D and Operations to guide new product development, product enhancements, and lifecycle changes, including specifications, readiness, launch timing, and supply continuity.
    • Establish and refine pricing, packaging, and offer architecture based on customer value, market dynamics, competitive positioning, and revenue and margin targets.
  • Product Marketing:
    • Own annual product marketing plans and integrated campaign priorities aligned to strategic objectives, including messaging, content priorities, channel support, and demand generation activities.
    • Define differentiated value propositions, positioning, and messaging for product offerings and applications spanning disease modeling, drug discovery, and toxicology/safety pharmacology.
    • Lead go-to-market strategy and launch excellence for new and existing products, including launch planning, commercialization readiness, sales enablement, and post-launch performance tracking.
    • Oversee development of customer-facing and sales-facing tools, including pitch decks, product collateral, FAQs, training materials, competitive tools, playbooks, webinars, and scientific content.
    • Partner with digital marketing and communications teams to support thought leadership, editorial planning, market education, and campaign execution.
  • Commercial Performance:
    • Own portfolio performance using commercial and operational KPIs, and recommend actions to improve revenue growth, market share, product adoption, profitability, and time to revenue.
    • Support sales forecasting, opportunity prioritization, and business reviews with insights on pipeline trends, customer adoption, competitive movements, and market demand.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and develop the product management team and influence cross-functional partners across Sales, R&D, Operations, Finance, and Marketing.
    • Coordinate with internal and FUJIFILM Life Sciences partners on branding, messaging, market development, and commercialization strategies to leverage synergies across the network.
    • Manage external collaborators, agencies, and key opinion leader interactions as needed to support market development and external-facing activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or similar field plus at least nine (9) or more years of or more years of marketing and/or product management experience in the drug discovery or discovery tools industry with a focus on cell-based products and services; or Master's degree plus at least seven (7) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Results-oriented with excellent communication skills, business acumen, and strategic perspective focusing on market expansion and strategic positioning.
  • Strong market experience in cell-based products and applications, and related technologies.
  • Ability to think strategically and to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills; able to build and maintain relationships with individuals and teams, and coach team members to deliver externally facing messaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, develop action plans, and solve problems.
  • Strong leadership skills within cross functional teams and a global mindset; a demonstrated leader through influence.
  • On-site presence in Madison, WI, highly preferred, hybrid mechanism can be discussed.
  • Travel 25%, including occasional international travel.
