Job Description

The Director of Product Management, Industrial Intelligence is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, roadmap, and development of connecting software products across the Honeywell Portfolio. This leader drives business growth by translating customer and operational needs into scalable offerings that improve plant performance, reliability, productivity, and sustainability.

The role combines strategic portfolio leadership with hands-on collaboration across software engineering, UX design, commercial teams, and industrial operations experts to deliver innovative digital products and services. The Director serves as the voice of the customer and is accountable for aligning market opportunities, technology investments, and business objectives to create differentiated customer value.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Strategy & Growth
  • Define and execute the long-term strategy and roadmap for Plant Cognition offerings.
  • Identify and prioritize market opportunities through customer discovery, competitive analysis, and Voice of Customer (VOC) activities.
  • Develop business cases and investment priorities that support growth, recurring revenue, and customer adoption.
  • Drive commercialization strategies and ensure successful launch of new digital offerings.


Product & Software Leadership
  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of software and digital solutions from ideation through commercialization and retirement.
  • Partner closely with software engineering teams to define product requirements, technical priorities, and release plans.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into product epics, user stories, and backlog priorities.
  • Guide proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives that validate customer value, technical feasibility, and business viability before full-scale investment.
  • Drive agile product development practices and continuous improvement across development teams.


User Experience & Customer-Centered Design
  • Collaborate with UX designers and engineering teams to develop Figma wireframes, mockups, and user workflows.
  • Ensure customer needs are incorporated into product requirements and user experiences.
  • Champion design thinking principles and data-driven product decisions that improve usability and adoption.


Industrial Operations & Plant Cognition Expertise
  • Apply knowledge of plant operations, process control systems, industrial automation, and controls integration to define meaningful customer solutions.
  • Work with plant personnel, operations leaders, and engineering teams to identify operational pain points and opportunities for digital transformation.
  • Connect software capabilities with real-world operating workflows, performance management needs, and industrial processes.


Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead matrixed teams across engineering, operations, sales, marketing, customer success, and service organizations.
  • Facilitate alignment between business objectives, customer needs, and technical execution.
  • Influence executive stakeholders and drive prioritization decisions across competing initiatives.
  • Establish performance metrics and governance processes to monitor portfolio health and business results.


Qualifications

You Must Have
• 10+ years of experience in product management, offering management, software product leadership, or digital transformation.
• Experience managing industrial software, connected operations, IIoT, analytics, or SaaS offerings.
• Demonstrated experience working within Agile product development environments.
• Experience developing and managing product roadmaps, epics, user stories, and prioritized backlogs.
• Experience leading software engineering teams through proof-of-concept development and product validation activities.
• Proficiency working with UX/design teams utilizing Figma or similar prototyping platforms.
• Experience in manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, energy, process industries, or industrial automation environments.
• Strong executive communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

We Value
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, Business, or related discipline.
• Experience with plant operations, process engineering, industrial automation, or controls integration.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), SCADA, APC, historian platforms, industrial data architectures, or asset performance solutions.
• Experience launching cloud-based industrial software products.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled operational intelligence, predictive analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Ability to translate plant operational challenges into prioritized digital product requirements and business outcomes.
• MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
