About the role:

As a Director of Operations, you will provide senior leadership and overall accountability for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of manufacturing operations.

You will report to the Site Senior Director and be located at Columbia, SC. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all manufacturing operations to ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient execution of production activities. Set clear expectations for operating discipline, schedule performance, execution accountability, and operational results while ensuring production outcomes support customer commitments, our goals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and implement manufacturing strategies that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost performance, and workforce capability. Ensure agreement between centralized SIOP requirements, customer demand, material availability, inventory performance, production constraints, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Promote operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, disciplined performance management, and systematic. Lead improvements in throughput, lead time, inventory optimization, cost performance, asset use, standard work, and overall manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Build and sustain a noperations organization through workforce development, succession planning, resource planning, leader effectiveness, and employee engagement. Deploy talent and resources to balance near-term production priorities with long-term site capability and business needs.
  • Be the primary manufacturing interface with customer-facing organizations, centralized SIOP and supply chain functions, other manufacturing sites, and regulatory stakeholders. Lead resolution of operational issues, production recovery plans, and strategic projects that support customer commitments, business growth, and long-term operational performance.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with applicable Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations, license requirements, quality assurance commitments, and company standards governing nuclear fuel fabrication operations.
  • Establish and maintain the operational processes, behaviors, and performance standards needed to support regulatory readiness, accurate reporting, effective inspection support, and timely resolution of findings, commitments, and corrective actions within the operations function.
  • Foster and sustain a strong nuclear safety culture by ensuring nuclear safety remains the highest priority in operational decision-making and work execution. Establish expectations for nuclear professionalism, conservative decision-making, procedural compliance, personal accountability, and a work environment where employees are expected and encouraged to raise and resolve safety concerns.


Qualifications:
  • We require a Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, business, supply chain, or related technical or business discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing operations, production leadership, supply chain, operations support, or a related regulated manufacturing environment.
  • We require 2 years of operations leadership, plant staff-level leadership, or senior operations management experience; we prefer experience in nuclear, chemical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in senior operations leadership and manufacturing execution.
  • Showcased strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial.
  • Developed workforce and facilitated collaboration.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $144,000 to $180,000 per year. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
