Position SummaryThe Director of Operations provides strategic leadership and organizational oversight for Interfaith Works' operational infrastructure. The role is accountable for operations strategy, facilities strategy, major vendor and contract oversight, business insurance and operational risk coordination, procurement standards, operational budgeting, and the effectiveness of office and administrative systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and execute IW's operations strategy in alignment with organizational priorities and budget.
- Lead and supervise the Operations Manager, setting priorities, performance expectations, and measurable outcomes.
- Develop the Operations budget and monitor performance in partnership with Finance.
- Lead the development and approval of operational policies, procedures, procurement practices, and administrative standards.
- Lead planning and approval for RFPs, major procurements, vendor selection, contract negotiation, renewals, and escalated vendor performance issues.
- Maintain executive oversight of business insurance and operational risk matters, coordinating with Finance, brokers, legal counsel, and organizational leaders as appropriate.
- Lead facilities strategy across IW locations, including space planning, maintenance standards, safety, capital needs, and major repairs.
- Provide strategic oversight of security, building access, office systems, and outsourced technology services.
- Review operational performance, recurring service issues, vendor performance, facilities trends, and response times; implement corrective action where needed.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Programs, Development, and other departments on cross-functional operational initiatives.
- Perform other duties and strategic projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least five years of progressively responsible operations, facilities, administration, vendor management, or related experience, including supervisory responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience with contracts, vendors, procurement, facilities, budgeting, and organizational systems.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, project-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity, judgment, discretion, accountability, and customer-service orientation.
