Role OverviewWe're looking for a hands-on Director of Operations to lead manufacturing, quality, service and supply chain across our sites in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and Whiteley, UK. Working across job-shop and medium-volume manufacturing, you'll bring the US and UK teams together, stay close to day-to-day delivery and ensure customer commitments are met on time and to the right standard.
You'll also build the processes needed to support growth, moving the business from Excel-heavy ways of working to a more disciplined, ERP-led operation. We're looking for someone who can improve planning, data and communication across teams, with experience implementing or scaling an ERP system,
Key responsibilities - Own end-to-end operations across the U.S. and UK sites, including planning, inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, service, and shipping.
- Build and run disciplined 6-12 month Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes aligned to demand, capacity, materials, and customer commitments.
- Lead the transition from spreadsheet-driven operations to a scalable, ERP-driven operating model with strong data discipline and accountability.
- Develop scalable operating procedures and tight communication loops across planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, service, and shipping.
- Improve delivery, quality, service, supply chain performance, and resource utilization while remaining hands-on in day-to-day execution.
Required Skills & Experience: - Engineering, operations, manufacturing, or supply chain background through degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong hands-on manufacturing experience across customized job-shop and medium-volume production environments.
- Proven experience with planning, inventory, supply chain, quality, service, and multi-site operations.
- Strong ERP experience, including moving teams from spreadsheet-driven processes to structured, system-driven workflows; Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes, solve problems quickly, and lead effectively in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
