Full Job Description
The Director of Nursing Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care. This role oversees nursing personnel, drives departmental performance, and leads the development and execution of approved nursing initiatives and goals. In accordance with Governing Body and Medical Executive Committee approval, the Director of Nursing Operations also serves as the facility's Infection Prevention Practitioner (IPP), supporting a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Job Duties include, but are not limited to: - Directs the functions of the nursing department and develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, Hospital values, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. - Oversees nursing department staffing, retention, and development, providing education, direction and mentorship of the team's function, purpose, and goals, investigating and resolving issues and deficiencies when needed. - Prepares annual capital and operating budget for nursing department. Monitors department expenses on designated schedule. - Collaborates with senior leadership as well as physicians consultants, and community institutions and is actively involved in performance improvement process, including data collection and analysis, and process improvement activities. - Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards. - May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. Requirements for consideration: - Master's degree in Nursing required, or current enrollment in an accredited master's nursing program. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. - CRRN Certification is required within three years of date of hire. - Minimum of three years' experience in a hospital nursing management level position is required. - Current CPR Certification is required. - Must maintain acceptable driving record, current driver's license and insurability.
