This program is designed for motivated nursing professionals who aspire to lead clinical teams, influence quality outcomes, and ultimately advance into a Director of Nursing position within our organization.
About the ProgramThe Director of Nursing Leadership Development Program provides an immersive learning experience that combines mentorship, leadership training, and practical operational exposure. Participants work alongside experienced clinical leaders to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully manage nursing services within a long-term care setting.
The program typically spans
6 to 12 months, depending on individual progress and readiness for placement.
Leadership Development AreasParticipants will develop expertise in key areas, including:
- Clinical leadership and staff engagement
- Quality assurance and performance improvement
- Regulatory compliance and survey preparation
- Financial management and resource planning
- Resident-centered care practices
- Team coaching, accountability, and workforce development
What You'll GainAs a participant in the program, you will receive:
- One-on-one mentorship from experienced Directors of Clinical Services
- Ongoing support from Vetter Senior Living's Clinical Advisory Council
- Hands-on leadership experiences in skilled nursing environments

- Support in obtaining ANAAC Director of Nursing Certification
- Consideration for Director of Nursing opportunities within the Vetter Senior Living network upon successful completion
Please note: Relocation to one of our communities is required when accepting a Director of Nursing placement.
QualificationsIdeal candidates will have:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of five years of long-term care nursing experience
- Prior supervisory, management, or leadership experience
- Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate within the Vetter organization
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building abilities
- A desire to grow as a leader while making a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults
