Position SummaryThe Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Director of Nursing (DON) Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight to all nursing operations and clinical staff
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and retention of nursing staff
- Collaborate with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to drive clinical excellence
- Monitor quality measures, infection control, and patient outcomes
- Lead survey preparation and serve as primary clinical contact during inspections
- Promote staff education, training, and professional development
Director of Nursing (DON) Qualifications- Active RN license in good standing (required)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Previous DON or ADON experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and survey processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
