Director of Medical Education

The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Xavier University (XUCOM), a Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for a 12-month position beginning in the late summer/early fall 2026. The Director of Medical Education oversees the Department of Medical Education, supervising the Medical Education Specialists and coordinating all elements related to the department in serving the medical student curriculum as well as the Master of Arts in Biomedical Science curriculum. This position supports faculty classroom instruction and testing including the compiling and formatting all classroom exams, administering and grading exams, maintaining and calculating grades, posting of all teaching materials to Canvas courses, and administering class assessments. This position works closely with the Associate Dean for Curricular Assessment and Quality, other Biomedical & Clinical Division Chairs and the Associate Dean of Faculty and Medical Programs. This position reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead / manage a team of Medical Education Specialists and ensure delivery and assessment of the curriculum is occurring successfully via Canvas and ExamSoft.
  • Experience with medical student approval, registration, review, and management of COMLEX, COMSAE, and COMAT testing.
  • Manage information collection and flow for learning management system (Canvas) data and assessment management systems.
  • Monitor data entry and ground level assessment information and processing of data for the Associate Deans.
  • Collaborates with XUCOM's leadership to ensure COCA and HLC program accreditation compliance.


Job Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in medical education with progressive responsibility contributing to successful delivery and assessment of the curriculum is preferred.
  • Experience with delivering self-assessment exams from the NBOME or NBME as well as delivering in-house examinations using ExamSoft is desirable.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
