Director of Marketing

Position Purpose

The Director of Marketing serves as an overseer to the Marketing department and leads the team in mass communications and fundraising through digital efforts (email, social media, and website), branding, public relations, and advancement of the mission of World Help. This role also provides administrative, direct management, and strategic planning oversight to the Marketing department to create cohesiveness and collaboration between team members, improve areas that are lacking growth, and enable efficiency across the department. Together, these responsibilities allow the Director of Marketing to ensure that World Help is growing donor giving through mass communications fundraising, maintaining and increasing charitable giving of active donors, assisting in the sourcing of new donors to the organization, fulfilling all media requests, exploring trends in marketing data, ensuring that World Help's communication streams are functioning properly, and enhancing customer experience for donors.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the Editorial and Digital teams and ensure their functions are running smoothly, forecasting ahead for issues/risks and opportunities.
  • Review area performance and KPIs, adjusting strategies as needed for greater success.
  • Meet weekly with Marketing department managers to ensure clarity, workload fulfillment, and problem solve obstacles that hinder goal completion.
  • Foster innovation by testing new ideas, campaigns, creative approaches, and communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with World Help directors to optimize productivity and provide opportunities for growth in donor giving.
  • Outline and oversee the Marketing department budget and forecast any needs for management of Marketing, ensuring financial health.
  • Report opportunities, issues, processes, and Marketing department needs to the Executive department.
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Director of Marketing & Development to report on Marketing updates and progress.
  • Provide oversight to the Marketing department in maintaining marketing strategy, managing media requests, ensuring best marketing and fundraising practices, processing invoicing/estimates/requisitions, and managing crisis-response protocol.
  • Share reporting & analytics results with the Marketing department to ensure cohesive communication between donor acquisition experience and donor retention as the donor advances through the funnel in their giving.
  • Any additional duties needed to drive World Help's mission, vision, and organizational values.

Your Time

60% - Marketing Oversight
  • Mass marketing strategy, media requests, marketing/fundraising practices, video, website, and digital strategy, invoicing, estimates, requisitions, and crisis response.

20% - Administrative Leadership
  • Timecards, 1:1 and team meetings, coaching, performance evaluations, department budgeting, and creating/implementing Marketing strategies.

20% - Reporting & Analytics
  • Monitor campaign performance and donor engagement trends. Report back monthly to Marketing and Executive departments.
