RequirementsThe RoleThis is a
build-and-run role. You'll own Elk Horn's entire marketing engine, hands-on, and then help us systemize it so it scales across the portfolio.
You'll be the person:
- Running paid ads. Meta and Google are our core, and you'll personally run them; scaling spend while improving, not just maintaining, cost per lead and lead quality. This is lead generation, not e-commerce.
- Owning local SEO & Google. Dominate local search, Google Maps, and our Google Business Profile. Our organic should be growing; you'll make it grow.
- Building the customer journey. You'll build the repeat-and-referral engine; email, SMS, the touchpoints that turn one job into three.
- Owning the brand. Keep it sharp and consistent across every channel, paid, organic, email, referral, and the door-to-door and local marketing we run through NPG.
- Growing commercial/B2B. Help us build a real B2B lead-gen system (property managers, professionals) alongside our commercial team.
You won't have a team on day one, you'll have vendors and a blank page. You'll build the systems, prove them, and earn the team as you scale what you've built.
About You- You're a hands-on operator, with the magic to lead. You can point to accounts you personally ran and results you personally drove; with real numbers.
- You've scaled paid spend without blowing up your CAC, and you can explain exactly how.
- You know local SEO, Google Business Profile, and the Maps pack cold.
- You love the customer-journey side; repeat, referral, lifetime value. It's not an afterthought for you.
- You're a genuinely good writer, and you can handle basic design yourself.
- You're accountable, high-integrity, fast-moving, autonomous but collaborative, ambitious, and you genuinely love people.
- You hold yourself to a high standard, and everyone around you knows your track record.
Nice to have: B2B/commercial marketing, local direct response (direct mail, flyers, door hangers, lawn signs), and a background in home services or another local, lead-gen business (roofing, HVAC, restoration, or any service scaled through paid ads).
BenefitsCompensation & Benefits- Compensation: This role is built for a Marketing Director who knows how to create measurable growth, and our comp structure is aimed to reward exactly that! We anticipate an annual base salary of $150k per year (at minimum)---so this isn't a cap, it's the floor.
- Year 1 OTE, Base + Bonus + Incentives should take our 'Rockstar' Marketing Director north of $200k.
- We're open to hearing what you need, what you want, and how we can help you meet that.
- Health insurance: Company contribution up to $400/month toward the plan you choose.
- 401(k): With matching up to 3%.
- Unlimited PTO: We treat you like an adult; take the time you need.
- Professional development: Ongoing training, coaching, and growth we genuinely invest in.
- The real benefit: A balanced work culture where you do meaningful work with people you respect and build something great, without the sacrifice a director-level role usually demands.
Location: Hybrid, our office is based in Castle Rock, CO. We get together in person roughly every other week, and knowing our market makes you better at this job. Otherwise, work where you work best. This is a full-time role and your sole focus.
